Victoria Dolbniak (Lyons, Ill./Morton West) was the top finisher in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:12.26, freshman
Alanna Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Homeschool) won the 5000 Race Walk with a time of 30:52.78, juni and the 4x400 Relay Team was first with a time of 4:26.90 for the Saint Xavier University women's track & field team at the Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Tiger Open on Saturday in Bourbonnais, Ill.
Dolbniak is the first Cougar to ever with the 400m Hurdles and the Relay Team of Delgado, senior Ailyn Gallardo (Alsip, Ill./Governors State/Saint Xavier/Eisenhower), sophomore Kristin Booker (St. Louis, Mo./Cardinal Ritter) and junior Lana Musa (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) became the first group to win the event in team history. Delgado is the third SXU runner to win the 800m after her former teammate Keeley Leary won it twice last season (April 11 & May 7) and former standout Jackie Ott won in May 8, 2013. Rodriguez is the second Saint Xavier athlete to win the 5000 Race Walk after Joclyn Ordonez first did it on April 2, 2021.
- Racing in the 100m, freshman Naomi Cargo (Chicago, Ill./Curie) clocked in at 13.04 seconds to take third place
- Cargo also had a Top Five finish in the 200m with a time of 27.02 seconds to place fourth. Gallardo made her collegiate debut in the race and crossed at 27.94 seconds and senior Anita Alassani (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) set a new PR at 30.08 seconds.
- Senior Nayely Martinez (Chicago, Ill./Maria) bested her previous PR by a second in the 400m and was sixth overall at 1:03.84. Booker was just behind in seventh place at 1:04.82. Alassani ran her quickest time of the season at 1:09.24.
- Freshman Emma Karczewski (Chicago, Ill./Marist) made her debut in the 800m and took seventh place with a time of 2:34.13. Senior Rachel Parsons (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) ran her best time of the season in the event at 2:37.27 and was 10th overall.
- Freshman Isabella Alatorre (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower) debuted in the 1500m and recorded the fifth-best time at 5:29.10.
- Senior Daniella Nino (Chicago, Ill./Calumet St. Joseph/De La Salle) competed in the 5000m for the first time this season and clocked in at 20:50.16 and placed eighth.
- Running in the 100m Hurdles for the first time this season, Musa finished in second place with a time of 16.83 seconds.
- Freshman Kenia Salgado (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) made her collegiate debut in the 3000m Steeplechase and took second place with a time of 14:10.37.
- Musa made her first appearance of the season in the High Jump and tied for second with a height of 1.45m.
- Freshman Tajana Sims (Ford Heights, Ill./Bloom Trail) finished third overall in the Long Jump with a distance of 4.97m. Freshman Nayilea Bejarano (Posen, Ill./Eisenhower) also placed in the Top 10 with her second-best jump of the season at 4.26m to take ninth. Freshman Paris Brown (Lynwood, Ill./T.F. South) was 11th with a jump of 4.23m.
- Junior Madison Simpson (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) posted the second-best throw in program history in the Shot Put and finished third with a toss of 11.61m. Freshman Katie DeHaan (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) PR'd and had the ninth-best throw ever for the Cougars at 11.09m and was fifth. Freshman Jamie Sierocki (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) was right behind in sixth place with a throw of 10.58m. Junior Layla Alexander (Chicago, Ill./Phoenix Military Academy) also was in the Top 10 with her ninth-place toss of 9.73m.
- Sophomore Precious Agugua (Frisco, Texas/Hertiage) posted the second-best attempt in team history for the second consecutive meet in the Discus at 40.45m and finished in third. Junior Jersey Panock (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) recorded a season-best toss of 34.08m and was sixth overall, while Sierocki had her second-best throw of the year at 32.15m of an eighth-place draw. DeHaan set a new PR with her toss of 29.44m.
- Simpson registered the fourth-best throw in program history, and her second-best, in the Hammer at 42.65m and finished sixth. Panock bested her previous PR with a toss of 39.06m to place 11th and had the 10th best throw ever for SXU, while Agugua was right behind in 12th place at 38.09m.
- Sierocki had the third-best throw all-time at Saint Xavier in the Javelin at 31.74m to place fifth, while DeHaan was sixth with the sixth-best toss in team history at 30.24m. Panock also set a PR in the event, by over two meters, with her throw of 25.03m and Musa made her collegiate debut in the event with a toss of 21.57m.
Saint Xavier takes part in the three-day Drake University (Iowa) Relays that begin on Wednesday, April 26 in Des Moines, Iowa.
