Kokomo, Ind. – The Saint Xavier University women's volleyball team (0-3, 0-0 CCAC) fell to Mount Vernon Nazarene University (Ohio) in four sets (25-21, 16-25, 22-25, 16-25) Saturday morning to conclude play at the Indiana University Kokomo Invite in Kokomo, Ind. Junior opposite hitter
Abby Gentile (Blissfield, Mich./Lourdes/Blissfield) led the Cougars with a match-best 21 kills, while junior setter
Kaleigh Ritter (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) scooped up a career-high 35 digs and freshman setter
Abbey Opilka (Dyer, Ind./Hanover Central) finished with a career-best 40 assists.
- Gentile also had a match-high 60 attack attempts, along with six digs and three blocks.
- Ritter added five assists, two kills and a service ace.
- Opilka had 16 digs for her first collegiate double-double and chipped in a block and her first collegiate kill.
- Senior middle blocker Courtney Hunter (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) collected seven kills, four blocks (one solo) and a dig.
- Freshman outside hitter Kaylee Born (Plainfield, Ill./Oswego East) also had seven kills, along with three digs and a solo block.
- Sophomore outside hitter Jenny Jensen (Orland Park, Ill./Cardinal Stritch/Sandburg) recorded five kills, three digs and a block.
- Sophomore middle blocker Nicole Grochola (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) registered four kills and two block assists.
- Sophomore defensive specialist Ariel Hoskin (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) tallied a career-best 14 digs and had an assist, while sophomore defensive specialist Katie DeHaan (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) finished with eight digs and an ace.
