Bourbonnais, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University men's soccer team (3-7-3, 3-1-2 CCAC) suffered its first setback in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play after a 2-0 loss to Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Omar Aparicio (Chicago, Ill./Hancock College Prep) each finished the match with two shot attempts for the Cougars. Overall, on the evening, SXU was out-shot 13-8 but only five shots were on goal as redshirt junior goalkeeper
Joel Estrada (Chicago, Ill./Solorio Academy) made three saves.
- Sophomore forward Irving Moreno (Chicago, Ill./Mount Carmel) had the lone shot on goal for Saint Xavier while logging 44 minutes of action on the pitch.
- Estrada recorded a pair of saves in the first half and the match was scoreless at the break.
- The Tigers broke the tie in the 54th minute and they scored again just over 10 minutes later in the 65th minute to pull away.
Saint Xavier (3-7-3/3-1-2 CCAC) faces Holy Cross College (Ind.) at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field on Homecoming on Saturday, October 19. The match is slated for a 7:30 pm start.
