Veronica Davila (Bourbonnais, Ill./Governors State/Bradley-Bourbonnais) scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the first half, however the Saint Xavier University women's soccer team (7-4-4, 5-2-3 CCAC) allowed four goals in the second half and lost to Judson University (Ill.) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Tuesday afternoon at Dawson Field in Elgin, Ill. Both teams finished the match with 10 shot attempts with SXU recording five shots in both halves. Despite the setback, Saint Xavier remains in a tie for third place in the conference along with Holy Cross College (Ind.) and University of St. Francis (Ill.) as all three teams sport a 5-2-3 record in the CCAC.
- Davila and sophomore defender/midfielder Stephanie Quevedo (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) each had two shot attempts and two shots on goal, respectively.
- Senior midfielder Louisa Schreiber (Bonndorf, Germany/Morton/Hans-Thoma-Schule) tallied two shot attempts and she recorded her team-leading fifth assist of the year.
- Junior midfielder Hailey Henry (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah Community) had a shot on goal while playing all 90 minutes.
- Fifth-year senior midfielder Neida Ocampo (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Harper/Conant), redshirt junior midfielder/defender Marissa Murillo (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) and sophomore forward Alex Jonaitis (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) each had one shot attempt as well.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Natalie Dybas (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) suffered the loss and sees her record drop to 2-4-3 while in goal.
- Davila gave SXU an early lead in the fourth minute of play when she found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Schreiber. The tally would hold until halftime.
- The Eagles evened the match in the 50th minute. They pulled away late in the match, scoring three goals in a four-minute span. JU scored twice in under a minute in the 82nd and 83rd minutes, and again in the 86th minute.
Saint Xavier (7-4-4/5-2-3 CCAC) wraps up the regular season when they make the short trip to Palos Heights, Ill. to play Trinity Christian College on Saturday, November 2. The match is slated for a 12:00 pm start.
