Ryann Ogarek (Joliet, Ill./Benedictine/Lewis/Providence Catholic) recorded her first double-double of the season with a season-high 20 points and a season-best 14 rebounds as the Saint Xavier University women's basketball team (1-3, 0-0 CCAC) earned its first win of the year in a 91-61 triumph over Indiana University Columbus Monday evening on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Ogarek finished 9-for-20 from the floor with two steals and a blocked shot in 26 minutes of action. She tallied 14 points and eight rebounds in the first half to help the Cougars build a 45-20 advantage at halftime. SXU posted a season-high 52 rebounds as a team and a season-best 10 steals while coming away with a season-high in points.
- Freshman guard Makayla Kelly (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) scored a career-best 12 points, draining four of her five three-point attempts and was 4-for-6 for the game. She also had an assist, a rebound and a steal in nine minutes off the bench.
- Junior guard Jaidn Green (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) tallied 10 points with a game-high five steals, three rebounds and an assist.
- Senior forward Alyssa Crenshaw (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee-Crown) scored nine points of 4-for-6 shooting with four rebounds, an assist and a steal in just 11 minutes.
- Freshman guard Maeve Egan (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) scored a career-best nine points, going 3-for-6 from beyond the arc, while adding an assist and a rebound in 12 minutes off the bench.
- Senior guard Aaliyahna Derrell (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek) collected six points, a game-leading five assists and two rebounds.
- Junior center Eleanor Harris (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) registered six points, six rebounds and a block in nine minutes.
- Freshman forward Veronica Bafia (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) came away with five points and four rebounds.
- Redshirt junior guard Hayley Macdonald (Canberra, Australia/Williston State/Lake Ginninderra) poured in five points with an assist and a rebound in eight minutes.
- Freshman guard Taylor Burcham (Galena, Ill./Galena) recorded career-highs in points (three) rebounds (three), assists (one) and steals (one) in seven minutes.
Saint Xavier (1-3/0-0 CCAC) travels to Howell, Mich. to play Cleary University (Mich.) on Saturday, November 16. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 pm central start.
