CHICAGO – Senior guard
Cedric Johnson (Bellevue, Neb./Sioux Falls/Nebraska-Kearney/Bellevue West) led the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (14-9, 9-6 CCAC) with 16 points and eight rebounds along with two assists and a block, however the Cougars lost to No. 14 Roosevelt University (Ill.), 70-53, in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Wednesday evening at the Goodman Center in Chicago, Ill. Johnson has scored in double figures in all 20 games that he has played this season and leads the team with a scoring average of 23.5.
- Junior guard Sando Hill (Vanoss, Okla./Lyon/Seminole State/Vanoss) finished with nine points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists in 34 minutes off the bench.
- Freshman guard Jordan Streeter (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) tallied eight points, four rebounds, two steals, an assist and a blocked shot.
- Senior guard Steven Ukiteyedi (Gaithersburg, Md./Allegheny/UMBC/Quince Orchard) scored seven points with four rebounds and a steal.
- Junior forward Andre Brandon (Coralville, Iowa/Sauk Valley/Liberty) pulled down six rebounds along with four points, an assist and a block.
- Senior guard Julian Barr (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln Land/Lincoln-Way East) came away with four points, two steals and an assist.
- Freshman forward James Stevenson (Sun River Terrace, Ill./Momence) tied his career-high with three steals and he added two points, two rebounds and an assist, while freshman forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) collected three points and three rebounds in his second career start.
Saint Xavier (14-9, 9-6 CCAC) welcomes Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) to the Shannon Center for a CCAC matchup on Saturday, February 10 in Chicago, Ill. The game is slated for a 3:00 pm start on Bob Hallberg Court.
