Whiting, Ind. – The No. 11 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (8-8/4-0 CCAC) defeated Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in three sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-21) Tuesday evening at the Rittenmeyer Center in Whiting, Ind. Junior outside hitter Matt Pennala (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach City/St. John Bosco) finished with a match-high tying nine kills, three digs and a block as the Cougars improved to 4-0 in conference play and are now the lone unbeaten team in the CCAC.

• Sophomore outside hitter Jan Lopuch (Krakow, Poland/I Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace Sportowego) posted seven kills on a .333 attack percentage (7-3-12) with two blocks, a dig and a service ace.
• Fifth-year senior middle blocker Drew Ehlers (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) also had seven kills and he added three blocks.
• Junior middle blocker Alessandro Gianotti (Desio, Italy/Brigham Young/Leonardo Da Vinci) recorded six kills, three blocks (one solo), an ace, an assist and a dig.
• Fifth-year senior setter Christian Oviedo (Brea, Calif./Concordia-Irvine/Servite) tallied 31 assists, two digs and a block.
• Junior outside hitter Kegan Olid (Fond du Loc, Wis./Fond du Loc) registered five kills and a block.
• Sophomore libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) added a pair of assists and a pair of digs.

No. 11 Saint Xavier (8-8/3-0 CCAC) returns to the Shannon Center for their first home match in almost a month when they host No. 15 Indiana Tech University on Friday, March 15. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 start.
