CHICAGO – Applications to join the Saint Xavier University cheerleading team are officially open for the 2024-2025 season. The deadline to submit an application is Thursday, April 25th at 12:00 pm. The tryout will occur after two days of clinics, on Sunday, April 28th at 11:00 am. The tryout weekend will take place in the back gym at the Shannon Center. The program is expanding to include male and female cheerleaders, a mascot program, and managers. All interested athletes are required to complete the tryout application available here.
 
Cheerleaders will be scored on various skills including the school's fight song, a sideline, jumps, stunting, motions, technique, coordination, energy, enthusiasm, and tumbling. Unable to make tryouts? Video tryouts will be accepted for a limited time. Videos should include a cheer, dance, at least two jumps, and a showcase of your stunting and tumbling skills.

?      Clinic Day 1: Friday April 26th, 6:00-8:30 pm
?      Clinic Day 2: Saturday April 27th, 11:00 am-2:00 pm
?      Tryouts: Sunday April 28th, 11:00 am-2:00 pm

Cheer: Black shorts, Black fitted top, red bow. Cheer shoes are preferred. No jewelry allowed.
Mascot: Black top, black shorts, gym shoes
Managers: Interview attire
