CHICAGO – The No. 7 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (19-8/10-0 CCAC) concluded the regular season portion of their schedule by defeating No. 13 Lourdes University (Ohio) in three sets (25-15, 25-22, 25-14) in an NAIA Top 15 contest Friday evening on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. The Cougars earn a bye out of the quarterfinals in next week's Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament and will host the semifinals on Friday, April 19 and the tournament championship of Saturday, April 20 by virtue of winning the CCAC regular season title. SXU will enter the tournament on a 13-match winning streak.

• Junior outside hitter Matt Pennala (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach City/St. John Bosco) posted 10 kills on a stellar .533 attack percentage (10-2-15), along with seven digs, two assists, two blocks and a service ace.
• Sophomore outside hitter Jan Lopuch (Krakow, Poland/I Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace Sportowego) also collected 10 kills. He added five blocks (two solos), four digs and an ace.
• Fifth-year senior setter Christian Oviedo (Brea, Calif./Concordia-Irvine/Servite) tallied a match-best 26 assists.
• Junior outside hitter Sean Carey (Skokie, Ill./Niles West) recorded seven kills on an efficient .429 attack percentage (7-1-14).
• Sophomore libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) had a match-high tying seven digs and he added an assist.
• Junior middle blocker Alessandro Gianotti (Desio, Italy/Brigham Young/Leonardo Da Vinci) registered four blocks (one solo) and three kills.
• Fifth-year senior middle blocker Drew Ehlers (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) came away with three blocks (one solo), an assist and a kill.
• Freshman setter Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) finished with a match-best four service aces, along with four digs and three assists.
• Sophomore outside hitter Oskar Krzyzak (Nowy Sacz, Poland/Szkota Mistrzostwa Sportowego Rzeszów) tallied three aces, three blocks, two kills and a dig.
• Redshirt-junior middle blocker Shane Ooms (Shorewood, Ill./Minooka Community) added two blocks and a pair of kills.
• Senior middle blocker Jake McClaine (Homer Glen, Ill./Marist) chipped in two service aces and a dig.

No. 7 Saint Xavier (19-8/10-0 CCAC) plays in the CCAC Tournament Semifinals on Friday, April 19 at the Shannon Center. Their opponent is TBA and the match is slated for a 7:00 pm first serve.
