CHICAGO – Saint Xavier University cheerleading will add a mascot program to its Spirit Squads for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
"As we work to build a championship culture, it's important to do everything that we can to support the energy and enthusiasm at games and on campus events," said new head Cheer coach Sitaara Jones. "Mascots are such a powerful part of the Spirit program because they have the power to really engage students, alumni, staff, and faculty and encourage everyone to be more involved while creating a sense of community and pride. I'm excited to build out a dedicated Mascot program at Saint Xavier to help take Champ's energy and engagement to the next level."
"Our student body does a fantastic job showing up and supporting our athletes, and I see this as a way to continue to improve the atmosphere and give our Cougars an even bigger home court advantage," added Jones.
The search for new mascot personalities is open.
