Kevin Kapica (Lombard, Ill./Willowbrook) each had two shot attempts for the Cougars as the SXU offense finished with 10 shot attempts and three shots on goal in the neutral site contest.
- Junior goalkeeper Daniel Martinez (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) made his first start of the season in net, making six saves.
- Kapica, sophomore forward Irving Moreno (Chicago, Ill./Mount Carmel) and freshman midfielder Balys Zamalaitis (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) each tallied a shot on goal for Saint Xavier.
- Naxto Sanchez of the Racers scored all three goals in the match. He scored in the fifth minute and the 19th minute off of assists, and Sanchez scored unassisted in the 60th minute.
Saint Xavier (0-2/0-0 CCAC) hosts Aquinas College (Mich.) in their home opener on Wednesday, August 28 at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago, Ill. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm kickoff.
