Louisa Schreiber (Bonndorf, Germany/Morton/Hans-Thoma-Schule) led the offense for SXU, collecting five shot attempts with one shot on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper
Natalie Dybas (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) suffered the loss after making three saves.
- Sophomore forward Alex Jonaitis (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) collected four shot attempts with two shots on goal.
- Fifth-year senior midfielder Neida Ocampo (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Harper/Conant) also had four shot attempts for the Cougars with one shot on goal.
- Sophomore defender/midfielder Stephanie Quevedo (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) had two shots on goal in her first collegiate start, playing all 90 minutes.
- The only goal in the contest came in the 13th minute of play.
- Jonaitis had a chance to tie the match in the 20th minute, but the shot was saved.
- Saint Xavier controlled the pace in the second half of action, out-shooting the hosts 13-1, however they couldn't fine the equalizer.
Saint Xavier (1-1/0-0 CCAC) returns to Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field to host Clarke University (Iowa) on Tuesday, September 3. The match is scheduled for a 6:00 pm kickoff.
