Bourbonnais, Ill. – Four players scored in double figures, including a team-best 13 from senior forward Kevin Bishop (Cleveland, Ohio/Pikeville/Parkland/Cleveland Benedictine) as Saint Xavier University men's basketball (13-5, 8-2 CCAC) defeated Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Saturday afternoon at McHie Arena in Bourbonnais, Ill. Bishop added eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and a pair of blocked shots, with his second block coming with just 24 seconds remaining in regulation. The win helps the Cougars keep pace in the CCAC standings, one game behind University of St. Francis (Ill.) for first place. With their win over the Tigers in their first meeting at the Shannon Center in November, it is the first time since the 2012-13 season that SXU swept the regular season series with ONU.

Although Saint Xavier shot below 40.0 percent from the field for the first time in 2024-25, going 30-for-82 (36.6 percent), the Cougar defense forced 18 turnovers and they came away with 15 steals, their fourth game with 15 or more steals this season, scoring 19 points off Olivet Nazarene turnovers. It was the 17^th time in 18 games that Saint Xavier caused 10 or more turnovers. For the second consecutive game, the Cougars did a nice job with ball control as they only had five turnovers after just four at St. Francis last Wednesday.

• Junior guard Deontrae Warren (Champaign, Ill./Daley/Olive Harvey/Champaign Centennial) totaled 12 points, the fifth time in his last six games the he has scored 10 or more points. He added a season-high four steals, three rebounds and an assist.
• Junior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) scored 11 points, going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc, along with a season-high tying four steals, three assists, a blocked shot and a rebound.
• Junior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) recorded his first double-double of the season, collecting 10 points and 10 rebounds, while adding an assist in a season-high 30 minutes.
• Senior guard Sando Hill (Vanoss, Okla./Lyon/Seminole State/Vanoss) netted nine points with two assists, a rebound and a steal in 14 minutes off the bench.
• Junior guard Mekhi Wilson (Covington, Ky./Iowa Central/Covington Catholic) came away with eight points, three rebounds and an assist.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Mason Kibelkis (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) tallied six points, a rebound and a steal,
• Sophomore forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) also scored six points, along with two assists, a rebound and a steal.
• Fifth-year senior guard Julian Barr (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln Land/Lincoln-Way) registered a team-best five assists. He also added three rebounds, two points and a steal.
• Junior guard DJ Shelton (Chicago, Ill./Calumet St. Joseph/UTTC/Thornridge) chipped in four rebounds, two assists, two points and a steal.

Saint Xavier (13-5, 8-2 CCAC) returns to the Shannon Center to take on Judson University (Ill.) on Wednesday, January 22. The game is set for a 7:00 pm start.
