University Park, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University women's basketball team (11-9, 7-5 CCAC) lost to Governors State University (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action at the GSU Athletics Center in University Park, Ill. Senior center
Alyssa Crenshaw (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee-Crown) led the Cougars with 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting and she grabbed a team-high eight rebounds (five offensive) along with two assists in 27 minutes of action.
- Junior guard Jaidn Green (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) also finished in double figures with 11 points, while going 3-for-6 from three-point range. She added five rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot.
- Freshman forward Veronica Bafia (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) collected nine points, five rebounds and an assist.
- Graduate student guard/forward Ryann Ogarek (Joliet, Ill./Benedictine/Lewis/Providence Catholic) recorded eight points, seven rebounds and an assist.
- Junior center Eleanor Harris (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) posted four points and three rebounds, while freshman guard Maeve Egan (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) added three points and a pair of rebounds.
- Senior guard Aaliyahna Derrell (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek) tied her season-high with nine assists and she pulled down three rebounds.
Saint Xavier (11-9/7-5 CCAC) makes the short trip to Palos Heights, Ill. to take on Trinity Christian College (Ill.) on Wednesday, January 29. Tip-off is set for 5:00 pm.
