Mishawaka, Ind. – Senior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) poured in a season-high 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the floor, along with 3-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc and going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, but the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (1-5, 0-0 CCAC) suffered a 113-92 loss to No. 15 Bethel University (Ind.) in a non-conference contest Saturday afternoon at Gates Gymnasium in Mishawaka, Ind. It was the third consecutive game that the Cougars scored 90 or more points, and they shot a season-best 42.9 percent (9-for-21) from three-point range. SXU also came away with 11 steals, their fourth game to begin the season with 10 or more steals.

• Lawrence added six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 25 minutes of action.
• Senior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) netted a season-best 14 points, making six of his 10 shot attempts. He also had three assists, three steals and a blocked shot.
• Redshirt junior guard DJ Wilson (Schaumburg, Ill./Maryville/Panola/Schaumburg) recorded 14 points on 5-for-9 shooting, five rebounds (three offensive) and three assists.
• Senior guard Jerry Abushanab (Glendale Heights, Ill./Oklahoma Panhandle State/Southwest Baptist/Link Prep) collected nine points, three assists two rebounds and a pair of steals.
• Junior guard James Morgan (Chicago, Ill./South Suburban/Lincoln Land/East Chicago Central) totaled eight points after making four of his eight shot attempts with a rebound in 14 minutes off the bench.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Streeter (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) came away with six points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
• Redshirt junior guard Mason Kibelkis (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) was 2-for-4 from deep, finishing with six points and a rebound.
• Senior guard Ike Nwaobi (York/Kilgore/Costal Bend/Westbrook) had four points, three rebounds and two assists in 10 minutes of play.
• Senior guard DJ Shelton (Chicago, Ill./Calumet St. Joseph/United Tribes Tech/Thornridge) also scored four points with a rebound and a steal.
• Junior forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) recorded three points, two rebounds, an assist and a block.
• Redshirt freshman guard Landon Rivers (Chicago, Ill./Arizona Compass Prep) netted his first points of the season on a pair of foul shots, along with an assist.
• Redshirt junior guard MJ Galimah (Coon Rapids, Mich./St. Cloud Tech/Riverland/Coon Rapids) chipped in a point and a steal in nine minutes on the court.

Saint Xavier (1-5, 0-0 CCAC) returns to the Shannon Center to face Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) to begin Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) competition on Wednesday, November 19. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start.
