CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (3-5, 2-0 CCAC) won its second consecutive Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) game to start the 2025-26 season after an 80-55 triumph over Judson University (Ill.) Saturday afternoon on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Senior guard Jerry Abushanab (Glendale Heights, Ill./Oklahoma Panhandle State/Southwest Baptist/Link Prep) led the Cougars with 11 points with seven rebounds, an assist, a blocked shot and a steal. Redshirt junior guard MJ Galimah (Coon Rapids, Mich./St. Cloud Tech/Riverland/Coon Rapids) scored a season-best 10 points, along with five steals, four rebounds, three assists and a pair of blocks in 19 minutes off the bench. SXU pulled down a season-high 46 rebounds, their fourth game with 40 or more rebounds this season, and a season-best 17 steals.

Saint Xavier fell behind 6-0 three minutes into the game; however, they would use a 21-2 run, capped by a fast-break dunk by Galimah midway through the first half. The Cougars went into halftime with a 36-22 advantage, and controlled the pace of the game to come away with their third win of the year.

• Redshirt junior guard DJ Wilson (Schaumburg, Ill./Maryville/Panola/Schaumburg) posted nine points, two steals, an assist and a rebound.
• Senior guard Mekhi Wilson (Covington, Ky./Iowa Central/Covington Catholic) tallied nine points as well, along with a season-high four rebounds and a pair of steals.
• Junior guard James Morgan (Chicago, Ill./South Suburban/Lincoln Land/East Chicago Central) recorded eight points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
• Junior forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) came away with a season-best seven points, three rebounds and a blocked shot.
• Senior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) registered six points, four rebounds and two assists.
• Redshirt junior guard Mason Kibelkis (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) knocked down a pair of three-pointers, collecting six points.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Streeter (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) hauled in a game-high eight rebounds (four offensive) with four points, three steals and a block.
• Senior guard Ike Nwaobi (York/Kilgore/Costal Bend/Westbrook) had five rebounds, two assists, two points and a steal.
• Senior guard DJ Shelton (Chicago, Ill./Calumet St. Joseph/United Tribes Tech/Thornridge) added three rebounds two points and a steal.

Saint Xavier (3-5, 2-0 CCAC) is on the road to play Indiana University South Bend in a conference contest on Tuesday, November 25. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 pm central tip-off.
