th minute was the difference in a 1-0 victory for the No. 2 seeded Saint Xavier University women's soccer team (10-4-4, 8-1-3 CCAC) over No. 7 Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament Quarterfinals Tuesday evening at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago, Ill. With the win, SXU advances to the tournament semifinals for the second time in the last three seasons. It was the first win for the Cougars at Deaton Field in the postseason since November 1, 2008, when they topped Illinois Institute of Technology in the quarterfinals. It was the first time since November 5, 2010, that Saint Xavier hosted a CCAC tournament match.
- SXU controlled the pace of the match, holding an 18-5 shot advantage.
- Freshman midfielder Paige Swaw (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) paced the offense with four shot attempts and two shots on goal in 90 minutes on the pitch.
- Senior midfielder Veronica Davila (Bourbonnais, Ill./Governors State/Bradley-Bourbonnais) and junior forward Alex Jonaitis (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) each had three shot attempts and one shot on goal, respectively. The duo also each played the full time.
- Henry had two shot attempts in 81 minutes of play.
- Junior goalkeeper Natalie Dybas (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) tallied three saves to come away with her sixth shutout of the year.
- Henry recorded her fifth goal of the season, slipping a shot past the Trinity Christian goalkeeper. For Manske, it was her seventh assist of the year along with her team-leading 23rd point.
No. 2 Saint Xavier (10-4-4/8-1-2 CCAC) hosts No. 3 St. Ambrose University (Iowa) in the CCAC Tournament Semifinals at Deaton Field on Friday, November 7. The start of the match has yet to be announced.
