Grand Rapids, Mich. – Senior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) recorded his first double-double of the season, collecting 17 points and a season-high 11 rebounds, for the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (1-3, 0-0 CCAC) but the Cougars came up short, losing to Aquinas College (Mich.), 97-93, on the final day of the Drury Inn Classic hosted by Aquinas Saturday afternoon in Grand Rapids, Mich. Lawrence scored in double-figures for the fourth straight contest to start the 2025-26 season, adding a steal in 21 minutes of play. SXU shot 48.4 percent (30-for-62) from the field and 37.0 percent (10-for-27) from three-point range.

• Senior guard Jerry Abushanab (Glendale Heights, Ill./Oklahoma Panhandle State/Southwest Baptist/Link Prep) tallied 15 points, going 7-for-7 from the foul line. He added five rebounds and four assists in 21 minutes of action.
• Senior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) also scored in double figures, collecting 12, along with three assists, three rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot in 30 minutes on the court.
• Senior guard Ike Nwaobi (York/Kilgore/Costal Bend/Westbrook) posted nine points, an assist, a rebound and a steal in 22 minutes off the bench.
• Redshirt junior guard MJ Galimah (Coon Rapids, Mich./St. Cloud Tech/Riverland/Coon Rapids) netted nine points as well while adding five rebounds, two assists and a steal.
• Senior guard Mekhi Wilson (Covington, Ky./Iowa Central/Covington Catholic) made three of his four shots, scoring eight points, with a pair of rebounds.
• Redshirt junior guard DJ Wilson (Schaumburg, Ill./Maryville/Panola/Schaumburg) registered seven points, two rebounds and an assist, as did redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Streeter (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young).

Saint Xavier (1-3, 0-0 CCAC) travels to Saint Mary of the Woods, Ind. to play Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (Ind.) in non-conference action on Wednesday, November 12. The game is slated for a 6:00 pm central start.
