CHICAGO – Senior guard
Jordan Jackson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northwood/Wilmington/East Kentwood) tallied a season-high 31 points, shooting 8-for-14 from the field, and he was 14-for-14 from the foul line to help the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (16-6, 11-3 CCAC) defeat Indiana University Northwest 92-80 in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Saturday afternoon on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Jackson tied for the fifth most foul shots made in a game in program history and he tied the single-game record for most free throws made without a miss (min. 10 attempts). It was the best foul shooting effort by a Cougar since former standout and NAIA All-American Jack Kreiger (2011-15) went 15-for-15 from the line at home vs. Marygrove University (Mich.) on November 29, 2014.
- Jackson added a team-leading four assists, four rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal in 32 minutes on the court.
- Senior forward Andre Brandon (Coralville, Iowa/Sauk Valley/Liberty) posted his fifth double-double of the season, scoring 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting, and grabbing 11 rebounds (three offensive). He also had three assists and two blocks.
- Junior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) netted 12 points, along with three rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot.
- Junior guard Mekhi Wilson (Covington, Ky./Iowa Central/Covington Catholic) totaled nine points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal.
- Junior guard Deontrae Warren (Champaign, Ill./Daley/Olive Harvey/Champaign Centennial) recorded eight points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in 20 minutes off the bench.
- Redshirt sophomore guard Mason Kibelkis (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) was 2-for-3 from three-point range, scoring six points.
- Sophomore forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) chipped in four points, three rebounds and an assist.
Saint Xavier (16-6, 11-3 CCAC) takes on Viterbo University (Wis.) in CCAC action at the Shannon Center on Wednesday, February 5. The game is set for a 7:00 pm tip-off.
