CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (16-7, 11-4 CCAC) lost to Viterbo University (Wis.), 85-84, in double overtime in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action Wednesday evening on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Senior guard Jordan Jackson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northwood/Wilmington/East Kentwood) led the Cougars with 21 points on 9-for-14 shooting, along with four steals, three rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot in 39 minutes on the floor. SXU had a better shooting percentage from the field, going 31-for-60 (51.7 percent) to VU's 41.1 percent (30-for-73), however the V-Hawks shot 66.7 percent (12-for-18) from the foul line to the Cougars' 53.3 percent (16-for-30).

Playing in their first overtime game since November 27, 2021 at home vs. Marian University (Ind.), and their first double-OT game since a triple overtime contest at Robert Morris University (Ill.) on February 11, 2015, Saint Xavier fell 2.0 games behind first-place No. 25 ranked University of St. Francis (Ill.) in the CCAC standings. SXU is tied for second along with Indiana University Northwest, with the Cougars holding the tie-breaker as they swept the season series.

• Senior forward Kevin Bishop (Cleveland, Ohio/Pikeville/Parkland/Cleveland Benedictine) recorded 16 points, five rebounds, a season-best four steals and two assists in a season-high 31 minutes of action.
• Senior forward Andre Brandon (Coralville, Iowa/Sauk Valley/Liberty) collected 15 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the field, along with a team-leading seven rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block.
• Junior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) came away with nine points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal in a game-high 39 minutes on the court.
• Senior guard Sando Hill (Vanoss, Okla./Lyon/Seminole State/Vanoss) had seven points, three rebounds and an assist in 20 minutes off the bench.
• Junior guard Mekhi Wilson (Covington, Ky./Iowa Central/Covington Catholic) registered six points, an assist, a rebound and a steal.
• Sophomore forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) added four points, three rebounds and a blocked shot.

Saint Xavier (16-7, 11-4 CCAC) travels to Whiting, Ind. to play Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in a CCAC match-up on Saturday, February 8. The game is set for a 3:00 pm tip-off.
