Whiting, Ind. – Senior guard
Sando Hill (Vanoss, Okla./Lyon/Seminole State/Vanoss) recorded a season-high 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field, however the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (16-8, 11-5 CCAC) lost to Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.), 89-78, in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) match-up Saturday afternoon at the Rittenmeyer Center in Whiting, Ind. Hill added four rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists in 19 minutes off the bench. Both teams combined for 69 free-throw attempts and 50 personal fouls. CCSJ held an 81.1 percent (30-for-37) advantage at the foul line to SXU's 65.6 percent (21-for-32).
- Senior forward Andre Brandon (Coralville, Iowa/Sauk Valley/Liberty) came away with his sixth double-double of the season, scoring 14 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. He also had an assist and a steal.
- Senior guard Jordan Jackson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northwood/Wilmington/East Kentwood) scored 14 points as well, along with three steals and a rebound.
- Junior guard Deontrae Warren (Champaign, Ill./Daley/Olive Harvey/Champaign Centennial) registered nine points and three rebounds.
- Senior forward Kevin Bishop (Cleveland, Ohio/Pikeville/Parkland/Cleveland Benedictine) tallied seven points, three rebounds and a steal
- Junior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) finished with five points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal.
- Junior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) posted four points, four rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot.
Saint Xavier (16-8, 11-5 CCAC) makes its way to South Bend, Ind. to play Indiana University South Bend on Wednesday, February 12. The game is slated for a 6:30 pm central start.
