South Bend, Ind. – The Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (16-9, 11-6 CCAC) suffered a 90-83 loss to Indiana University South Bend in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Thursday evening at the Student Activities Center in South Bend, Ind. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday evening but was postponed due to a snowstorm. The Cougars were led in scoring by fifth-year senior guard
Julian Barr (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln Land/Lincoln-Way) and Senior guard
Jordan Jackson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northwood/Wilmington/East Kentwood), with both players scoring 13 points, respectively. Saint Xavier was outshot from the free-throw line 24-4, as the Titans finished 18-for-24 to the Cougars' 4-for-4.
- Barr was 3-for-6 from beyond the arc, and 4-for-9 overall, with three rebounds, an assist and a steal in 18 minutes off the bench.
- Jackson added two assists, two steals and a rebound. He shot 5-for-13, and was 3-for-10 from deep.
- Senior forward Kevin Bishop (Cleveland, Ohio/Pikeville/Parkland/Cleveland Benedictine) made six of his nine shot attempts for 12 points, while adding four rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists.
- Junior guard Mekhi Wilson (Covington, Ky./Iowa Central/Covington Catholic) also scored in double figures, tallying 11 points. He was 3-for-8 from three-point range with three rebounds and an assist.
- Junior guard Deontrae Warren (Champaign, Ill./Daley/Olive Harvey/Champaign Centennial) recorded nine points, also shooting 3-for-8 from beyond the arc, with four rebounds and three steals.
- Junior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) came away with six points, an assist and a rebound.
- Sophomore forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) registered six points, three rebounds and a steal.
- Redshirt sophomore guard Mason Kibelkis (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) also scored six points and he grabbed a rebound.
- Senior guard Sando Hill (Vanoss, Okla./Lyon/Seminole State/Vanoss) chipped in a team-high five rebounds, a team-leading four assists, three points and a steal.
Saint Xavier (16-9, 11-6 CCAC) returns to the Shannon Center to take on Holy Cross College (Ind.) on 'Alumni Day' on Saturday, February 15. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 pm start.
