CHICAGO – All five starters finished in double figures as the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (17-9, 12-6 CCAC) eclipsed the century-mark for the sixth time this season as they defeated Holy Cross College (Ind.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action Saturday afternoon on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. on 'Alumni Day.' Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) led the Cougars with a season-high 20 points on 6-for-9 shooting, including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc, with six rebounds, five assists and two steals in just 21 minutes. The 37-point margin of victory was the largest of the season for SXU.
- Senior forward Andre Brandon (Coralville, Iowa/Sauk Valley/Liberty) collected 16 points while shooting 5-for-10 from the floor. He also had four steals, three assists, three rebounds and two blocked shots.
- Fifth-year senior guard Julian Barr (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln Land/Lincoln-Way) tallied 15 points, shooting at a 75.0 percent clip (6-for-8). He added five rebounds and a pair of assists.
- Senior guard Sando Hill (Vanoss, Okla./Lyon/Seminole State/Vanoss) recorded 13 points without missing a shot, going 5-for-5 from the field, 2-for-2 from deep and 1-for-1 from the free-throw line. He also had five assists, five steals and two rebounds.
- Junior guard Deontrae Warren (Champaign, Ill./Daley/Olive Harvey/Champaign Centennial) posted 11 points, six rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block.
- Senior guard Jordan Jackson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northwood/Wilmington/East Kentwood) had seven points, three assists, three rebounds and two steals.
- Redshirt freshman guard Brandon Botley (South Holland, Ill./Thornton Township) scored his first career basket, finishing with six points while adding an assist.
- Senior forward Kevin Bishop (Cleveland, Ohio/Pikeville/Parkland/Cleveland Benedictine) registered six rebounds, five points, an assist and a steal.
- Freshman guard Landon Rivers (Chicago, Ill./Arizona Compass Prep) also netted his first career points, knocking down a three-pointer.
Saint Xavier (17-9, 12-6 CCAC) hits the road to take on St. Ambrose University (Iowa) on Wednesday, February 19. The game is set for a 7:30 pm tip-off.
