CHICAGO – Sophomore outside hitter
Caydann Cox (Jamestown, N.D./Jamestown/Jamestown) posted his second double-double of the season with a season-high 13 digs and 10 kills as No. 2 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball (9-0/1-0 CCAC) defeated Roosevelt University (Ill.) in non-conference action Tuesday evening at the Goodman Center in Chicago, Ill. Cox also had a season-best five service aces, two blocks and an assist. The win matches the program record for consecutive wins to begin a season, nine, tying the mark set by the 2021 squad.
- Senior opposite hitter/setter Matt Pennala (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach City/St. John Bosco) finished with a match-best 15 kills on a .400 attack percentage (15-3-30). He added seven digs, an assist and a block.
- Sophomore setter Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) came away with a season-high 40 assists, along with eight digs, four kills, three aces and a block.
- Junior opposite hitter Oskar Krzyzak (Now Sacz, Poland/Szkota Mistrzostwa Sportowego Rzeszow) recorded nine kills, a season-best four digs, a block and a service ace.
- Graduate student middle blocker Drew Ehlers (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) tallied seven kills on a .400 attack percentage (7-1-15), three blocks, two assists and two digs.
- Junior libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) had a match-high tying 13 digs, his sixth match with 10 or more digs this season, and four assists.
- Freshman middle blocker Kyle Petrusch (Naperville, Ill./Metea Valley) registered four kills, three blocks, an ace and an assist.
- Redshirt senior outside hitter Vejas Cuplinskas (Riverside, Ill./Riverside Brookfield) chipped in four kills, a block and a dig.
- Senior outside hitter Kegan Olig (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) made his season debut, collecting three kills and a dig.
No. 2 Saint Xavier (9-0/1-0 CCAC) travels to La Crosse, Wis. to compete in the Viterbo University (Wis.) Tri-Match on Saturday, February 22. They play the host V-Hawks at 12:00 pm in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest, followed by a match with University of Jamestown (N.D.) at 2:30 pm.
