CHICAGO – 25 student-athletes from the Saint Xavier University football team (5-6, 1-4 MSFA Midwest) were named to the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) All-Academic Team when the awards were announced Monday morning. Graduate student kicker Peyton Benes (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew), graduate student linebacker Ryan Fitzgerald (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew), fifth-year senior quarterback Stuart Ross (Springfield, Ill./Springfield Southeast) and fifth-year senior defensive back Nick Schultz (Shorewood, Ill./Minooka Community) highlight the group, each being named to the team for the fourth time, respectively. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 or higher and be enrolled at the school for at least one calendar year.
