CHICAGO – The No. 2 Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (21-0/9-0 CCAC) earned a pair of victories Saturday afternoon in their return to the Shannon Center, defeating St. Ambrose University (Iowa) in three sets (25-16, 25-18, 25-22) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action in their first match of the day. Later in the afternoon, the Cougars topped No. 4 Lawrence Tech University (Mich.) in three sets (25-23, 25-17, 25-13) in a clash of Top Five NAIA programs on Bob Hallberg Court in Chicago, Ill. Senior outside hitter Kegan Olig (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) finished with a match-high 11 kills as well as two blocks, and he reached a career milestone, surpassing 300 career kills in the win over the Fighting Bees. Senior opposite hitter/setter Matt Pennala (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach City/St. John Bosco) collected a match-best 10 kills along with four blocks (one solo) as SXU posted 14.0 blocks (six solos), their second-highest block total in a match this season.

Match One:

• Redshirt senior Vejas Cuplinskas (Riverside, Ill./Riverside Brookfield) recorded 10 kills, his second match with 10 or more kills this year, with a block, a dig and a service ace.
• Sophomore setter Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) tallied 28 assists, four digs, three kills, two aces and two blocks.
• Sophomore outside hitter Caydann Cox (Jamestown, N.D./Jamestown/Jamestown) registered eight digs, seven kills, two blocks (one solo) and an ace.
• Junior libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) also collected eight digs along with four assists.
• Sophomore middle blocker Camden Steckler (Manteca, Calif./Jamestown/Manteca) totaled a match-high five blocks (two solos) with two kills and a dig.
• Graduate student middle blocker Drew Ehlers (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) had two blocks (one solo) and a kill in one set, while sophomore setter Aaron Amawan (Hanover Park, Ill./Bartlett) added an assist, a dig and a service ace.

Match Two:

• Pennala added seven digs and a pair of assists.
• Senior outside hitter Sean Carey (Skokie, Ill./Niles West) tied his season-high with nine kills on a .364 attack percentage (9-1-22), along with four digs and two blocks (one solo).
• Cox came away with eight kills, two aces, two assists, a block and a dig.
• Daniels handed out a match-leading 30 assists while adding eight digs, five blocks (two solos), two kills and two service aces.
• Ehlers recorded seven kills on an efficient .545 attack percentage (7-1-11) and five blocks (one solo).
• Velez scooped up a match-best 17 digs, his third-highest total in 2025, with three assists and an ace.
• Steckler chipped in five blocks (one solo) and four kills on five attempts.

No. 2 Saint Xavier (21-0/9-0 CCAC) welcomes Judson University (Ill.) to the Shannon Center for a CCAC match on Tuesday, April 1. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start.
