Alex Jonaitis (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) scored a goal in the first half and she added a pair of assists in the second half to help guide the Saint Xavier University women's soccer team (4-3-1, 3-0 CCAC) to a 3-0 triumph over Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action Tuesday afternoon at the Schaaf Athletic Complex in Palos Heights, Ill. The win snaps a 12-match winless streak (0-11-1) against the Trolls as the Cougars won their first match in the all-time series since a 2-0 win at home on September 26, 2012. Junior goalkeeper
Natalie Dybas (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) collected three saves as SXU posted its third consecutive shutout to begin conference play.
- Jonaitis recorded her team-leading fifth goal of the year, collecting a pair of shots on goal in 84 minutes of action.
- Senior midfielder Veronica Davila (Bourbonnais, Ill./Governors State/Bradley-Bourbonnais) netted her second goal of the season as she had three shot attempts and two shots on goal in 64 minutes of play.
- Freshman midfielder Paige Swaw (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) scored her third goal of the 2025 campaign, also totaling three shot attempts and two shots on goal, in 79 minutes on the pitch.
- Saint Xavier got on the scoreboard first in the 16th minute when senior midfielder Hailey Henry (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah Community) found Jonaitis who converted her shot for a goal. Henry picked up her first assist of the year.
- Early in the second half, Davila took a pass from Jonaitis and scored in the 51st minute.
- Jonaitis earned her second assists of the match, and third of the season, when she sent a pass to Swaw who hit the back of the net in the 57th minute.
Saint Xavier (4-3-1/3-0 CCAC) returns to Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field to host Indiana University South Bend in a CCAC contest on Saturday, September 27. The match is slated for a 12:00 pm kickoff in Chicago, Ill.
