Elgin, Ill. – For the second consecutive match, the Saint Xavier University women's volleyball team (8-4, 6-1 CCAC) outlasted their opponent in a five-set thriller, defeating Judson University (Ill.) (16-25, 25-19, 25-23, 18-25, 16-14) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action Thursday evening at the Lindner Fitness Center in Elgin, Ill. Senior outside hitter Jenny Jensen (Orland Park, Ill./Cardinal Stritch/Sandburg) led the Cougars with 11 kills along with a season-best four blocks (three solos). She recorded the match-winning kill to extend SXU's winning streak to seven in a row. Saint Xavier posted a season-high 10 solo blocks and a season-best 11.0 total blocks. It was the second straight match that the Cougars had 50 or more kills, recording 50, 10 or more service aces, collecting 10, and 70.0 or more points, totaling 71.0.

• Sophomore middle blocker Carrington Smith (Flossmoor, Ill./Marian Catholic) finished with 10 kills, a season-high four blocks (three solos), three digs, an ace and an assist.
• Senior setter Samantha Hovey (Mackinaw, Ill./Heartland/Dee-Mack) handed out a season-best 26 assists while adding seven kills, five digs and two service aces.
• Fifth year senior libero Avanna Martinez (Coamo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Ponceno) came away with a match-leading 31 digs. It was her second match this year with 30 or more digs. She also had four assists, two aces and a kill.
• Redshirt sophomore middle blocker Delaney Panozzo (Grant Park, Ill./Grant Park) established a new career-high in kills with nine along with two digs and a solo block.
• Junior setter Abbey Opilka (Dyer, Ind./Hanover Central) registered 10 assists, five digs and a pair of service aces.
• Freshman outside hitter Danica Bowden (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) also set a career-high in kills, recording six, as well as a career-best three digs.
• Senior middle blocker Nicole Grochola (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) tallied five kills, three solo blocks, season-high in solo blocks, and a dig.
• Sophomore libero/defensive specialist Taylor Vann (Oklahoma City, Okla./Bishop McGuinness Catholic) recorded nine digs, two aces and an assist.
• Graduate student defensive specialist Katie DeHaan (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) totaled five digs, an assist and a service ace, while redshirt junior outside hitter Carolina Cosme (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Judson/Colegio Sagrado Corazon de Jesus) chipped in a season-best five digs and an assist.

Saint Xavier (8-4/6-1 CCAC) makes the trip to South Bend, Ind. to take on Indiana University South Bend in CCAC competition on Tuesday, September 30. The match is slated for a 6:00 pm central start.
