th minute to give Saint Xavier University men's soccer (7-3-1, 2-1 CCAC) a 1-0 victory over Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tuesday afternoon at the Schaaf Athletic Complex in Palos Heights, Ill. Daniel Martinez (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) earned his sixth win of the season in net after making eight saves to record his third shutout of the season.
- Redshirt senior forward Jaedan Aguilera (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere North) assisted on the goal, his third assist of the year. He finished the match with a team-high three shot attempts and two shots on goal in 71 minutes of play.
- Redshirt sophomore midfielder Saul Lagunas (Midlothian, Ill./Bremen) and sophomore midfielder Balys Zamalaitis (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) each collected two shot attempts, respectively. Lagunas, making his 10th start, was on the pitch for 82 minutes, while Zamalaitis saw 36 minutes of playing time off the bench.
- Martinez made an early save in the third minute and he made two more saves in the 26th and 29th minutes.
- Aguilera had a shot saved in the 16th minute to keep the match square at 0-0.
- In the 52nd minute, Martinez stopped a pair of shots, three seconds apart, to keep the match scoreless.
- Hul re-entered the contest two minutes before he netted the winning goal.
Saint Xavier (7-3-1/2-1 CCAC) returns to Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field to host Judson University (Ill.) in CCAC action on Saturday, October 4. The match scheduled for a 1:30 pm kickoff.
