Notre Dame, Ind. – Senior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) finished with a team-leading 19 points while playing all 40 minutes, however Saint Xavier University men's basketball (6-10, 4-5 CCAC) lost 83-69 to Holy Cross College (Ind.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action Wednesday evening at McKenna Arena in Notre Dame, Ind. Lawrence added nine rebounds, three rebounds and a steal. He scored 10 of his points, and grabbed seven of his rebounds, in the first half to help give the Cougars a 44-39 lead at halftime. The Saints shot 58.6 percent (17-for-29) in the second half, outscoring SXU 44-25. Overall, Saint Xavier was outshot 54.2 percent (32-for-59) to 36.4 percent (24-for-66).

• Senior guard Jerry Abushanab (Glendale Heights, Ill./Oklahoma Panhandle State/Southwest Baptist/Link Prep) tallied 12 points, nine rebounds, a team-best four assists, and a steal in 37 minutes on the court.
• Junior forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) recorded a season-high 10 points, along with a season-best five rebounds, an assist and a steal in a season-high 28 minutes of action.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Streeter (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) made three of his five shot attempts, collecting seven points. He also had two assists, two steals, a blocked shot and a rebound in 12 minutes off the bench.
• Senior guard Ike Nwaobi (York/Kilgore/Costal Bend/Westbrook) posted six points, an assist, a rebound and a steal.
• Senior forward Grant Martin (Ridgecrest, Calif./Cal State-Long Beach/Citrus/Burroughs) netted six points while adding an assist and a rebound.
• Senior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) added three points, two assists, two rebounds and a steal.

Saint Xavier (6-10, 4-5 CCAC) hosts Governors State University (Ill.) in a CCAC contest at the Shannon Center on Saturday, January 17. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 pm start.
