Matt Pennala (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach City/St. John Bosco) tallied a team-best, and match-high tying, 18 kills on a .343 attack percentage (18-6-35), junior setter
Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) issued a season-high 42 assists and senior middle blocker
Tysen Myers (Apple Valley, Minn./Jamestown/Eastview) posted a season-best seven blocks (three solos) in the win. The Cougars logged season-highs in kills (59), assists (49) and total blocks (13.5). The triumph extends SXU's winning streak to five in a row.
- Pennala added five digs, three assists, three blocks and a service ace.
- Freshman outside hitter Owen Krause (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) established a new career-high in kills with 16, doing so on a .379 attack percentage (16-5-29). He also had a block and a dig.
- Junior outside hitter Caydann Cox (Helena, Mont./Jamestown/Jamestown) finished in double-digits in kills as well, recording 11 on a .333 attack percentage (11-2-27), while also coming away with three blocks, two digs and an assist.
- Daniels also had seven digs, four blocks (one solo) and three aces.
- Myers added six kills and a pair of digs.
- Senior libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) totaled a match-high tying 11 digs and three assists.
- Freshman middle blocker Hayden Grange (Mission Viejo, Calif./Trabuco Hills) registered eight kills, tying his career-best mark, a career-high five blocks and three digs.
- Freshman outside hitter Henry Truitt (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) added a career-best three services aces in the win.
No. 2 Saint Xavier (6-2/0-0 CCAC) hosts No. 4 Georgetown College (Ky.) in an NAIA Top 15 match-up at the Shannon Center on Friday, February 13. The match is set for a 7:00 pm first-serve.
