Jerry Abushanab (Glendale Heights, Ill./Oklahoma Panhandle State/Southwest Baptist/Link Prep) logged his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds, however the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (10-14, 8-9 CCAC) lost to St. Ambrose University (Iowa) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) competition Wednesday evening at the Lee Lohman Arena in Davenport, Iowa. Nwaobi added a pair of rebounds, while Abushanab had two assists and two steals. It was Abushanab's second double-double against the Fighting Bee's this season. SAU nearly doubled SXU in three-pointers made at 13 to seven, making 50.0 percent (13-for-26) to the Cougars' 33.3 percent (7-for-21). Saint Xavier shot its second-best effort from the free-throw line this year at 88.2 percent (15-for-17), the fifth time that they have shot 80.0 percent or better from the foul line in 2025-26.
- Senior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) tallied 10 points, tied his season-high with five assists, and he had two rebounds.
- Senior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) recorded 10 points, six rebounds and a pair of steals.
- Junior guard Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) finished in double-figures as well, collecting 10 points after making four of his seven shot attempts. He also had two rebounds, an assist and a steal.
- Redshirt sophomore guard James White (Chicago, Ill./Chicago-Agricultural Sciences) tied his season-high in points with nine, going 4-for-5 from the floor. He added a rebound in 12 minutes off the bench.
- Junior guard James Morgan (Chicago, Ill./South Suburban/Lincoln Land/East Chicago Central) totaled five points, three rebounds and two assists.
Saint Xavier (10-14, 8-9 CCAC) celebrates 'Senior Day' before they take on University of St. Francis (Ill.) in CCAC action at the Shannon Center on Saturday, February 14. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 pm start.
