CHICAGO – As Saint Xavier University men's basketball (11-14, 9-9 CCAC) celebrated eight seniors on 'Senior Day', three stood out as senior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) scored a career-high 24 points, senior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) netted a career-best 23 points and senior guard Jerry Abushanab (Glendale Heights, Ill./Oklahoma Panhandle State/Southwest Baptist/Link Prep) posted 11 points in an 85-69 upset of first-place University of St. Francis (Ill.) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest in their regular-season finale Saturday afternoon on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. The Cougars collected eight of their nine steals in the second half, turning a narrow 57-56 advantage midway through the frame into their double-digit win to halt USF's seven-game winning streak.

The eight seniors recognized with a pre-game ceremony: Abushanab, Atwater, redshirt junior guard Mason Kibelkis (Peotone, Ill./Peotone), Lawrence, senior forward Grant Martin (Ridgecrest, Calif./Cal State-Long Beach/Citrus/Burroughs), senior guard Ike Nwaobi (York/Kilgore/Costal Bend/Westbrook), senior guard DJ Shelton (Chicago, Ill./Calumet St. Joseph/UTTC/Thornridge) and senior guard Mekhi Wilson (Covington, Ky./Iowa Central/Covington Catholic).

• Lawrence was 8-for-11 from the field, 4-for-6 from three-point range and 4-for-5 from the foul line, along with four rebounds.
• Atwater finished 8-for-13 from the floor, and 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, with four assists, three steals and two rebounds.
• Abushanab added seven rebounds, three steals, two blocked shots and an assist.
• Junior guard Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) tallied nine points, seven rebounds and a block.
• Junior guard James Morgan (Chicago, Ill./South Suburban/Lincoln Land/East Chicago Central) netted seven points with two assists and two rebounds.
• Nwaobi had six points, three steals, an assist and a rebound.
• Kibelkis hit a three-pointer and he grabbed a rebound.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Streeter (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) collected two points and two rebounds.
• Martine recorded three rebounds, Shelton pulled down two rebounds and Wilson chipped in a blocked shot and a rebound.

Saint Xavier (11-14, 9-9 CCAC) makes the short trip to Whiting, Ind. to play Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in CCAC action on Wednesday, February 18. The game is slated for a 7:00 pm start.
