Wesley Chapel, Fla. – The Saint Xavier University Women's Golf team began the Spring portion of its schedule with an eighth place draw out of eight teams with a three-day score of 1,242 (439, 395, 408) at +378 at the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff hosted by NCAA Division II Walsh University (Ohio) at the Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chanel, Fla. Sophomore
Brooke Visser (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) had the top score for the Cougars, collecting a 54-hole tally of 298 (107, 92, 99) at +82. She made a pair of birdies on day two, on the Par-Four eighth hole and the Par-Four 15
th hole, lowering her score by 15 strokes. Visser birdied the eighth hole again to conclude the tournament on day three. No. 4 Marian University (Ind.) won the tournament with a team score of 947 (311, 327, 309) at +83. The Knights had the lowest individual scorer, with Keara Eder shooting 233 (77, 82, 74) at +17 to win by one stroke.
- Junior Maddie Davis (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) tied for 37th overall, just three shots behind her teammate at 301 (109, 101, 91) at +85. She lowered score by eight shots after her second loop, and by another 10 shots after 54 holes of play.
- Senior Delaney Bullington (Evergreen Park, Ill./Trinity Christian/Marist) placed 41st with a mark of 312 (108, 100, 104) at +96.
- Junior Isabella Tor (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) finished 43rd with a three-day score of 331 (115, 102, 104) at +115.
- Junior Emma Willis (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) did not compete on day one, however she participated the other two days to come away with a score of 267 (137, 130).
Saint Xavier prepares for the Judson University (Ill.) Spring Invite that takes place on Tuesday, April 7 at Randall Oaks Golf Course in West Dundee, Ill.
