Elmhurst, Ill. – Senior
Yanira Deana Paninka (Canary Island, Spain/Central Methodist/IES Jandia) broke her own school record in the 400m after she finished first with a time of 57.16 seconds for the Saint Xavier University women's track & field at the three-day Chicagoland Championships hosted by Elmhurst University in Elmhurst, Ill. It was her second career win in the race, and just the third time ever that a Cougar runner won in the discipline. Fifth-year senior
Olivia Mathis (Akron, Ohio/Lourdes/St. Vincent-St. Mary) took home first-place honors for SXU, hitting the NAIA 'B' Standard in the 800m with the sixth-fastest time in team history, her fifth best, at 2:12.18. As a team, Saint Xavier collected 10 points, though not every race/discipline was scored, tying for eighth overall out of 13 programs.
- Racing in the 100m Dash, senior Emerson Colins (New Lenox, Ill./St. Francis/Lincoln-Way West) broke her own school record in the finals, placing third at 12.06 seconds. She qualified in the preliminaries with a time of 12.26 seconds. Also in the prelims, junior Amaya Rique (St. Louis, Mo./Mineral Area/Seckman) ran her second-best career time at 12.61 seconds.
- Colins posted her second-fastest career time, and the second-best in program history, in the 200m with a fourth-place time of 25.34 seconds. Rique logged her fourth-quickest career time, placing fifth at 25.60 seconds. Deana Paninka debuted in the event, taking seventh with a time of 25.82 seconds. Junior Rashiya Warfield (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) set a new personal record (PR) with her mark of 27.16 seconds. Junior Isabel Calderon (Orland Park, Ill./Olivet Nazarene/Sandburg) clocked in at 27.64 seconds in her Outdoor debut for SXU. Sophomore Sophia Thomas (Highland, Ill./Highland) PR'd as well with a time of 28.60 seconds.
- Also competing in the 400m, Calderon crossed the finish line at 1:01.57, while Mathis posted her third-best career time at 1:02.67.
- Fifth-year senior Lexi Clarke (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet JC/Plainfield South) ran in the 1500m for the first time, nearly breaking the program record by .26 seconds, with a 10th place time of 4:36.79. Freshman Briana Krapf (Portage, Ind./Portage) made her Outdoor debut, clocking in at 5:11.27, as did freshman Ava Scheeringa (Hebron, Ind./Hebron) with her time of 5:16.75. Junior Alexia Guzman (Chicago, Ill./Solorio Academy) booked her second-best career time at 5:31.42. Freshman Jiselle Aldrete (Chicago, Ill./Marist) also made her Outdoor debut, crossing at 6:04.63.
- A pair of runners qualified for the 100m Hurdle finals, with Deana Paninka logging at time of 15.63 seconds and Warfield posting a mark of 15.79 seconds in the preliminaries. Deana Paninka set the team record in the finals with a fourth-place draw of 14.87 seconds, the first Saint Xavier runner to run under 15 seconds. Warfield, the previous record holder, booked her second-best career time, and third-fastest in program history after taking sixth at 15.13 seconds. Freshman Alesi Rodriguez (St. John, Ind./Andrean), making her Outdoor debut, checked in at 19.75 seconds in the prelims.
- Rodriguez also raced in the 400m Hurdles, recording a time of 1:16.11. Senior Kenia Salgado (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) ran her second-quickest career time at 1:17.22.
- The 4x100 Relay Team of Colins, Rique, Warfield and Thomas placed fifth overall with a time of 50.07 seconds.
- In the Long Jump, Thomas established a new PR with her distance of 4.58m.
- Sophomore Mariah James (Alsip, Ill./Shepard) came away with a throw of 10.52m in the Shot Put. Senior Jamie Sierocki (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) recorded a toss of 10.37m. Freshman Alexa Pena Flores (Burbank, Ill./Reavis), making her Outdoor debut, logged a throw of 10.29m, while freshman Brooke Becker (Tinley Park, Ill./Tinley Park), also debuting, posted a distance of 10.17m. Junior Amariah Scott (Chicago, Ill./Thornton Township) had a mark of 10.04m.
- James produced the fifth-best throw of her career in the Discus at 33.96m. Becker finished with a toss of 29.32m, and Scott booked a toss of 24.69m.
- In the Hammer, Scott registered a new PR with her seventh-place throw of 42.94m. James finished just ahead of Sierocki with a distance of 37.05m to Sierocki's mark of 37.04m. Becker checked in with a throw of 33.00m, and Pena Flores logged a toss of 32.64m.
- Sierocki made program history by becoming the first Saint Xavier thrower to surpass the 36.00m mark in the Javelin with her second-place throw of 36.23m, to set the team record. Pena Flores posted a toss of 26.06m, while Calderon debuted in the event with a throw of 21.32m.

th Annual 'Gina' Relays hosted by Hillsdale College (Mich.). The three-day meet starts on Thursday, April 16 in Hillsdale, Mich.
