Box Score Deerfield, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University baseball team (20-22/12-8 CCAC) scored a season-high 18 runs and pounded out 15 hits, tied for second-most hits in a game this season, in an 18-6 triumph over Trinity International University (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action Friday afternoon in Deerfield, Ill. Senior infielder Joe Rycerz (Schererville, Ind./Andrean) and senior infielder Darren Zarrillo (Grapevine, Texas/Frank Phillips/Grapevine) each drove in three runs to pace the offense and sophomore pitcher Noah Scott (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) improved to 3-1 on the year after throwing 4.2 innings of relief with four hits, one walk and three strikeouts. It's the seventh time this season that the Cougars have scored 10 or more runs in a game and the 13th time that they had 10 or more hits.

• Rycerz finished 3-for-5 with two runs and a stolen base, while Zarrillo was 1-for-4 with a sacrifice fly, a run scored and a steal.
• Sophomore outfielder Kevin Dowling (Chicago, Ill./Murray State/Mount Carmel) collected four hits in five at-bats with a pair of doubles, two runs, two RBI and a stolen base.
• Senior outfielder Sean Haddlesey (Ann Arbor, Mich./Albion/Skyline) had two hits in three trips to the plate with two RBI, two runs scored and a sac fly.
• Senior infielder Patrick Hayes (Chicago, Ill./Moraine Valley/Parkland/Brother Rice) scored three runs and was 1-for-4 with two RBI and two walks.
• Senior infielder Declan Smyth (Evergreen Park, Ill./North Central/Evergreen Park) was 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
• Junior outfielder Daniel Barrios (Manteno, Ill./Manteno) also scored three times, had two steals and drew a walk after finishing 0-1.
• Junior pitcher Julian Vargas (Tinley Park, Ill./Tinley Park) pitched into the 3^rd inning and his final line was 2.0 innings, five hits, six runs, three walks and a strikeout.
• Junior pitcher Ryan Martin (Whitestone, N.Y./Iona/St. Francis Prep) saw 1.1 innings out of the bullpen with two hits allowed.
• Rycerz hit a two-run single and Zarrillo had a sac fly in the top of the 1^st to give SXU a quick 3-0 lead.
• The Trojans got two runs back in the bottom of the frame on an RBI base hit and a run scoring double play.
• TIU tied the game in the bottom of the 2^nd off a sacrifice fly and took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the 3^rd on an RBI single, a wild pitch and another sac fly.
• Saint Xavier roared back in the top of the 4^th, plating nine runs. Haddlesey hit an RBI single, Hayes lined a two-run single, Rycerz was hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded, Smyth drew a bases loaded walk, Zarrillo drove in a run on an error and senior outfielder Sam Ryan (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Conant) and Haddlesey each hit sacrifice flies to jump ahead 12-6.
• Dowling cracked a two-run double in the top of the 6^th and Zarrillo collected his third RBI on a base hit in the top of the 7^th.
• Junior designated hitter Evan Orzech (Shorewood, Ill./Crossroads Christian Academy) and freshman pinch-hitter Jackson McFarland (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute South Vigo) both walked with the based loaded and Hayes scored on a wild pitch in the top of the 8^th.

Saint Xavier (20-22/12-8 CCAC) will celebrate 'Senior Day' prior to its doubleheader with Trinity International University (Ill.) on Saturday, April 22 at Richard R. Ferrell Memorial Field. Game one is scheduled for a 12:00 pm start.
