Bettendorf, Iowa – Senior
Isaac Sytsma (Highland, Ind./Indiana Tech/Calumet St. Joseph/Highland) ran the third-fastest time in program history in the 8K at 24:45.8 to finish first overall for the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Cross Country Championships hosted by St. Ambrose University (Iowa) Saturday morning at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf, Iowa. Sytsma became the first male runner for the Cougars to win the CCAC Championships in consecutive seasons, he joins former women's All-American Ellie Willging (2015-17) to do so as Willging repeated as women's champion in 2016 and 2017.

Jonathan Jacobo (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower), as Jacobo placed sixth overall with a new personal record and running the 18
th fastest time all-time for Saint Xavier at 25:20.3. Both runners claimed All-CCAC honors of the second straight season. The pair also qualified for the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships, as individuals, that take place on Saturday, November 16 in Columbia, Mo. SXU finished third out of eight teams with 74 points. No. 21 ranked University of St. Francis (Ill.) won the team title just ahead of runner-up Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) with 39 points to ONU's 40.
- Senior Luke Snedden (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) ran the third fastest-time of his career, finishing with a time of 26:11.0 to place 17th.
- Senior Josiah Sianez (Blue Island, Ill./Eisenhower) also recorded his third-best career time, crossing the line at 26:28.8 and was 22nd overall.
- Junior Rohindeep Bhattel (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) ran the third-quickest time of his career as well, clocking in at 26:45.7 to finish 28th.
- Senior Julian Rosenbach (Joliet, Ill./Joliet JC/Joliet West) set a new PR by over 10 seconds with a time of 26:48.7, steps behind his teammate and placing 31st.
- Sophomore Luis Lopez (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) established a new PR as well, crossing the finish line at 26:52.7, six seconds better than his previous best and was 33rd overall.
- Freshman Joey Lagattolla (Romeoville, Ill./Plainfield East) posted his second-fastest time of the season at 27:35.4 to finish 41st.
- Junior Ben Morrey (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) registered his third-fastest career time as he logged a mark of 27:39.0 to place 42nd.
- Freshman Trey Maciejewski (Rensselaer, Ind./Rensselaer Central) topped his old PR by nearly 26 seconds, finishing with a time of 28:29.6 for a draw of 56th place.
- Sophomore Andy Damon (Crestwood, Ill./Oak Forest) ran the third-quickest time of his career at 28:32.7 for a finish of 57th.
- Sophomore Jack Zvejnieks (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) posted his third-best career time at 28:37.9 and was right behind his teammate, placing 58th.
- Freshman Xavier Sananisai (Rockford, Ill./Jefferson) PR'd by over 12 seconds with a mark of 28:45.5 and was 60th overall.
- Senior Jacob Malinoff (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) recorded his third-fastest time of the season, crossing at 28:58.5 to finish 64th.
- Freshman Carlos Villanueva (Summit, Ill./Argo Community) ran his second-best mark this year with a time of 33:25.4 to place 91st.
Jacobo and Sytsma will compete at the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, November 16. The 8K race takes place at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo. at 10:30 am.
