th in scoring, for the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team at the Indiana Wesleyan University Twilight Invite Friday evening at the IWU Cross Country Course in Marion, Ind. Morrey, along with multiple teammates who also established new PR's, helped the Cougars to a team score of 454 to place 16
th out of 20 teams, with three opponents ranking in the Top 10 in the NAIA. Host and No. 8 ranked Indiana Wesleyan won the meet with a score of 42, while Goshen College (Ind.) featured the top individual runner, Drew Hogan with his time of 24:25.70.
- Senior Rohindeep Bhattal (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) ran his third-fastest career time in an 8K event, posting a time of 26:45.5.
- Sophomore Joey Lagattolla (Romeoville, Ill./Plainfield East) crushed his previous PR by almost 35 seconds with his time of 26:56.7.
- Junior Andy Damon (Crestwood, Ill./Oak Forest) destroyed his PR by taking almost 90 seconds off his old mark, running his first sub-27-minute 8K at 26:57.5.
- Sophomore Trey Maciejewski (Rensselaer, Ind./Rensselaer Central) shaved nearly a minute off of his old PR, clocking in at 27:31.9.
- Freshman Michal Wreczycki Jr. (Palos Park, Ill./Stagg) running in his second collegiate race, and first 8K, recorded a time of 27:36.1.
- Freshman Will Morrey (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) competing in his first collegiate 8K was not too far behind his teammates, coming away with a mark of 27:40.9.
- Junior Alejandro Velazquez (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) took over 16 seconds off of his previous PR, setting a new fastest mark at 27:45.6.
- Sophomore Xavier Sananisai (Rockford, Ill./Jefferson) joined the 'PR Breaking Parade' as he bested his previous low with a time of 27:52.4, over 50 seconds quicker than his old PR.
- Freshman Josh Bosstel (Portage, Ind./Portage) ran in his first 8K at the collegiate level, clocking in at 27:57.0
Saint Xavier is scheduled to compete at the Midwest Classic hosted by Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) at Aspen Ridge Golf Course on Friday, September 19. The meet is slated for a 5:30 pm start.
