Yanira Deana Paninka (Canary Island, Spain/Central Methodist/IES Jandia) posted a new personal record (PR) in the 6K with a time of 23:55.2, running nearly 50 seconds faster than her previous best, to place 18
th overall and 16
th in scoring for the Saint Xavier University women's cross country team at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championships Saturday morning at Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais, Ill. The Cougars placed sixth out of nine teams with a total score of 161. Host, and No. 12 ranked, Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) won the team title to claim an automatic berth into the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships that takes place on Friday, November 21 in Tallahassee, Fla. ONU also had the individual champion as Heidi Heldt finished with a time of 21:51.9.
- Freshman Briana Krapf (Portage, Ind./Portage) crossed the line 29th overall, and 24th in scoring, with a time of 24:38.8. It was her second-best time in a 6K race this season.
- Freshman Ava Scheeringa (Hebron, Ind./Hebron) eclipsed her previous PR by three seconds after she clocked in with a time of 25:31.0 for a 42nd place finish, 33rd in scoring.
- Junior Alexia Guzman (Chicago, Ill./Solorio Academy) recorded her second-best career time in a 6K event with a mark of 26:50.0 for a 56th place draw and 43rd in scoring.
- Junior Isabel Calderon (Orland Park, Ill./Olivet Nazarene/Sandburg) toppled her old PR by more than three minutes with her time of 27:06.9, finishing 59th and 45th in scoring.
- Freshman Jiselle Aldrete (Chicago, Ill./Marist) competed in her first collegiate 6K, posting a time of 30:40.0 for an 87th place finish.
