th in scoring, with a time of 20:30.12 in the 5K race for the Saint Xavier University women's cross country team as they began the 2026 season on a hot and humid Friday evening at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Saints Twilight Invite at Channahon Community Park in Channahon, Ill. The Cougars placed 4
th out of 11 teams with a score of 131. NCAA Division III University of Chicago (Ill.) won the meet with a score of 15 as they had the nine fastest times of the race.
- Freshman Daniela Dodge (Monee, Ill./Illiana Christian) made her collegiate debut for SXU, clocking in at 22:05.96 for a 43rd place draw, 25th in scoring.
- Sophomore Chloe Miller (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) was 46th with her time of 22:21.16, and she was 28th in scoring.
- Sophomore Ava Scheeringa (Hebron, Ind./Hebron) was a set behind her teammate with a time of 22:23.97 to place 47th overall and 29th in scoring.
- Senior Alexia Guzman (Chicago, Ill./Solorio Academy) came away with a new personal record (PR), crossing the finish line at 22:51.96 for a 50th place time and 32nd in scoring. She improved on her old mark by 34 seconds set on the same course last season.
- Freshman Ariana Leato Jaimes (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) also made her collegiate debut for Saint Xavier. She booked a time of 24:56.77 to place 63rd overall.
Saint Xavier returns to action on Saturday, September 19 when they compete in the Rumble in the Fort hosted by Purdue University Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, Ind. The race is slated for a 9:00 am central start.
