CHICAGO – Five members from the Saint Xavier University men's cross country and track & field teams were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team when the awards were announced Tuesday afternoon. Senior
Julian Rosenbach (Joliet, Ill./Joliet JC/Joliet West), junior
Rohindeep Bhattel (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) and junior
Ben Morrey (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) competed for both cross country and track teams, while senior
Robert Davis (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) and junior
Charlie Zufan (Orland Hills, Ill./Andrew) were members of the track and field squad. Bhattel, Rosenbach and Zufan are repeat winners after claiming the distinction in 2023-24. To qualify, a student-athlete must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher, have started or played at least 66.7 percent of their team's games and be a sophomore or higher.
From the academicallamerica.com website: the Academic All-District team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom. CSC divides the honorees into four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. By earning All-District, the winners advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Those honorees for First-, Second- & Third-Team Academic All-America will be announced on July 16.
- Bhattel carries a 4.00 GPA as a Business and Finance major. He was also a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) All-Academic selection in 2024-25
- Davis majored in Secondary Education with a GPA of 3.62. He earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete and CCAC All-Academic recognition.
- Morrey holds a GPA of 3.84 while majoring in Criminal Justice. He was a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete and two-time CCAC All-Academic honoree as well.
- Rosenbach sported a 4.00 GPA as an Exercise Science major. He joined Bhattel and Morrey as a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete and two-time CCAC All-Academic selection.
- Zufan is a Criminal Justice major with a GPA of 3.73. He rounds out the group with Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete and CCAC All-Academic honors to his name this school year.
