Crane and Wroble Claim NFCA-NAIA All-American Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior outfielder Fiona Crane (Evergreen Park, Ill./Northern Illinois/Mother McAuley) and sophomore outfielder Aubrey Wroble (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NAIA All-Americans for the Saint Xavier University softball team (37-8/16-0 CCAC) when the awards were announced by the national office Thursday afternoon. The duo also claimed NFCA-NAIA All-Region First Team honors last week. Crane earned NFCA-NAIA All-American First Team honors, while Wroble was named NFCA-NAIA All-American Second Team. Crane also came away with the New Balance/NFCA Golden Shoes Award as the most prolific base stealer this season in the NAIA, posting an NAIA-best 1.58 steals per game as she swiped 71 bases on 73 attempts in 45 games for the Cougars. She set the SXU single-season record for stolen bases and tied the single-game record when she was 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts at Judson University (Ill.) on April 23.

It is the first time since 2022 that Saint Xavier had a player earn NFCA-NAIA All-American honors, when former standout catcher Brittany Schultz (2018-2022) was a Second Team selection. It is also the first time since 2015 that the Cougars had two players named to the NFCA-NAIA All-America Team when SXU Hall of Fame pitcher Nicole Nonnemacher (2013-16) was an NFCA-NAIA First Team All-American, and former standout infielder Rebeka Ferguson (2014-15) was a Second Team honoree.
  • Crane earned NAIA All-American Second Team recognition, was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Player of the Year, earned All-CCAC First Team honors, won a CCAC Gold Glove and was a three-time CCAC Player of the Week. She was a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree as well. Crane played in and started all 45 games for the Cougars and also set the SXU single-season on-base percentage record, reaching base at a .549 clip and broke the runs scored record, crossing home plate 67 times. She batted .497 (71-for-143) with a .545 slugging percentage, adding two triples and her first collegiate home run. Crane collected 78 total bases with 23 RBI and 16 walks. While patrolling center field, she had a perfect fielding percentage on 81 chances (78 putouts and three assists).
  • Wroble earned NAIA All-American Third team honors, was an All-CCAC First Team selection, a CCAC Gold Glove winner and was a two-time CCAC Player of the Week in 2025. She was a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, along with earning CSC Academic All-District honors and being named to the CCAC All-Academic team. Wroble broke her own single-season team batting average record, becoming the first player in SXU history to bat over .500 in a season (min. 100 at-bats), finishing with a .516 average (80-for-155). She also had an on-base percentage of .500 for the second consecutive season at .525, while slugging .523. With 80 hits on the season, Wroble became just the third player in program history to collect 80 or more hits in a year. She played in and started all 45 games for Saint Xavier, posting 81 total bases with 46 runs scored, was 42-for-44 on stolen base attempts, 20 RBI, four walks and a double. Wroble had a fielding percentage of .982 with 54 putouts, one assist and on error while playing right field.
