Monmouth, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University women's golf team placed sixth out of 10 teams with a two-day score of 735 (+167) at the Monmouth College (Ill.) Fall Invite this weekend at Gibson Woods Golf Course in Monmouth, Ill. Junior
Maddie Davis (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) finished ninth overall with a 36-hole total of 166 (+24). She shot a round of 82 on Saturday, making a birdie putt on the Par-Four second hole. On Sunday, Davis tallied a score of 84. NCAA Division III Coe College (Iowa) won the tournament with a score of 635 (+67) and they had the top individual, Lia Maxwell, who finished with a two-day score of 151 (+9).
- Sophomore Brooke Visser (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) tied for 21st with a score of 176 (+34). She completed day one with a score of 92, however she improved her score by eight strokes on day two, turning in a card of 84.
- Junior Isabella Tor (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) finished in a three-way tie for 26th, totaling a score of 184 (+42). She posted a round of 89 on the first day, and recorded a score of 95 on day two.
- Freshman Ava Nowacki (Oak Lawn, Ill./St. Laurence) placed 45th after a 36-hole score of 209 (+67). In round one, she carded a score of 106. To finish the tournament, she lowered her score by three strokes with a mark of 103.
- Junior Emma Willis (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) was 49th overall with a two-day tally of 234 (+92). She started the tournament with a score of 120 on Saturday, but she lowered her score by six shots on Sunday, completing the 18-hole loop with a score of 114.
Saint Xavier prepares for the two-day Grace College (Ind.) Fall Invite that begins on Monday, September 29 at Stonehenge Golf Course in Winona Lake, Ind. Tee-times for day one start at 12:00 pm central.
