Jade Gabor (Newark, Ohio/Newark) finished 15
th overall out of 366 bowlers with a total of 1,025 pins for the No. 22 ranked Saint Xavier University women's bowling team on the first day of the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic this weekend at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill. Gabor posted an average score of 205.0 across five games with a high of 255 pins in game one, followed by a 216-pin total in game two and 214 pins in game five. She helped the Cougars to a 13
th place draw after the individual portion of the tournament. On Sunday, SXU competed in 16 Baker Games, and they collected 2,819 pins for a two-day total of 7,478 for a 17
th place finish out of 55 teams. No. 4 Mount Mercy University (Iowa) posted the top score with 8,163 pins, just ahead of No. 1 Judson University (Ill.) and its score of 8,032 pins.
- Also bowling on Saturday, junior Breanna Pimentel (Northlake, Ill./West Leyden) finished 25th overall with a total score of 999 pins. She hit an average of 199.8 pins in five games with a high of 235 in game three. Pimentel also hit 221 pins in game four.
- Freshman Brianna Merner (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) placed 33rd with her total of 985 pins in five games. She bowled an average score of 197.0 with a high of 211 in game three. Merner preceded that mark with 203 pins in game two.
- Junior Abigail Miller (Lockport, Ill./Joliet JC/Lockport Township) came away with 876 pins in five games for an average score of 175.2. She struck a high of 221 pins in game one.
- Senior Emma Zalud (Bolingbrook, Ill./Downers Grove South) posted a score of 774 with an average of 154.8 pins in five games. She knocked down a high of 169 pins in game two.
- Saint Xavier utilized six bowlers in its lineup for the Baker Games on Sunday. Gabor, Merner, Miller and Pimentel bowled in all 16 games, while sophomore Elizabeth Voss (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) and Zalud rotated spots. The Cougars rolled an average score of 176.2, hitting a high of 216 pins in game three. They also hit 203 pins in game five and 200 pins in game 12.
