Fort Wayne, Texas – The No. 20 ranked Saint Xavier University women's bowling capped the 2025-26 season with an 11
th place finish out of 15 teams at the Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) Sectionals this weekend at Cityview Lanes in Fort Worth, Texas. The Cougars also had six individuals take part in the Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC) Sectionals on Friday, March 13 with sophomore
Jade Gabor (Newark, Ohio/Newark) collecting 1,117 pins across six games for an average of 186.2 pins per game. She bowled a high of 230 pins in game two, while also hitting 216 pins in game six. It was the ninth time in the program's nine-year history that SXU qualified for the ITC Sectional tournament as the 2019-20 tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Bowling in a total of 64 Baker Games, 32 on both Saturday and Sunday, Saint Xavier tallied 11,150 pins. North Carolina A&T State University had the most pins in the Fort Wayne Sectional, coming away with 13,109 to advance to the ITC National Championships next month in Green Bay, Wis.
- Also competing in the ISC tournament, junior Breanna Pimentel (Northlake, Ill./West Leyden) placed in a tie for 70th overall with 1,094 pins. She averaged 182.3 pins in six games, with a high of 225 in game six.
- Junior Abigail Miller (Lockport, Ill./Joliet JC/Lockport Township) was right behind her teammate with a tally of 1,087 pins to finish 75. She collected an average of 181.2 pins in six games, knocking down a high of 236 pins in game six to place 109th.
- Freshman Brianna Merner (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) toppled 1,024 pins in six games, averaging a score of 170.7. She struck a high of 190 pins in game six.
- Sophomore Elizabeth Voss (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) posted a score of 976 pins for an average of 162.7. for a tie for 122nd. She hit a high of 189 pins in game one.
- Freshman Ashley Baeza (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) recorded 918 pins in six games, averaging a score of 153.0. She bowled a high mark of 188 pins in game six.
- In the ITC tournament, the Cougars surpassed 200 or more pins three times on Saturday with 204 in game three, 212 in game five and 223 in game 31. Sunday afternoon, SXU also had three games with 200 or more pins as they hit 204 in game 34, 212 in game 54 and 205 in game 63.
