Rock Island, Ill. – Senior Alejandro Velazquez (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) turned in the quickest time, at 27:51.8 in the 8K race, for the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College (Ill.) at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill. He was 62^nd overall, posting his fourth-best career time, out of 263 runners. As a team, the Cougars were ninth out of 18 with a score of 277. University of Chicago, ranked No. 7 in the latest NCAA Division III poll, won the meet with a score of 37. Zach Sporaa, running unattached, had the best individual time at 25:02.2. SXU was originally scheduled to race at the Seminole Valley Stampede hosted by Mount Mercy University (Iowa) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, however the racecourse was flooded due to heavy rains earlier in the week.

• Junior Logan Schmidt (Bolingbrook, Ill./Joliet Junior College/Bolingbrook) came away with a new personal record (PR) with his mark of 27:57.6, 70^th, narrowly topping his previous best of 27:58.0 set last season while he competed for Joliet Junior College (Ill.) on October 17.
• Senior Andy Damon (Crestwood, Ill./Oak Forest) ran his third-fastest 8K time, crossing the finish line steps behind his teammate at 27:58.4 for a 72^nd place draw.
• Freshman Marcos Rico (Evergreen Park, Ill./Westerville) made his collegiate debut, running a time of 28:28.5 to place 94^th.
• Junior Joey Lagattolla (Romeoville, Ill./Plainfield East) appeared in his first event of the season, finishing 97^th with a time of 28:32.3.
• Junior Trey Maciejewski (Rensselaer, Ind./Rensselaer Central) checked in with a time of 28:50.3.
• Sophomore Josh Bosstel (Portage, Ind./Portage) was right behind his teammate, crossing at 28:51.0 in his second career 8K race.
• Sophomore Will Morrey (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) competing in just his fourth collegiate 8K, logged a time of 28:58.2.
• Sophomore Michal Wreczycki Jr. (Palos Park, Ill./Stagg), also running in his fourth career 8K event, finished at 29:34.3.
• Senior Nathaniel Macias (Oak Lawn, Ill./Trinity Christian/Oak Lawn Community) made his Saint Xavier debut, clocking in at 35:17.2.
• Sophomore Sam Slana (Oak Lawn, Ill./Trinity Christian/Oak Lawn Community) recorded a time of 37:02.1, his second-best career time in an 8K.
