CHICAGO – Freshman guard
Brooklynn Johnson (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Freshman of the Year, as well as earning a spot on the All-CCAC Freshman Team and claiming All-CCAC Honorable Mention honors for the Saint Xavier University women's basketball team (18-11, 14-6 CCAC) when the conference awards were announced Monday afternoon after the conclusion of the CCAC Tournament that saw Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) defeat Indiana University South Bend 81-80 Saturday afternoon in Bourbonnais, Ill. Joining Johnson on the All-Freshman Team and earning All-CCAC Honorable Mention was Freshman forward
Alaina Peetz (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township). Sophomore forward
Veronica Bafia (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) and senior guard
Jaidn Green (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) were named All-CCAC Second Team. It is the third consecutive season that Green claimed All-CCAC Second Team recognition, while Bafia was an All-CCAC Freshman Team selection a season ago. Johnson in the fourth Cougar in team history to be named the CCAC Freshman of the Year as former NAIA All-Americans Jacki Dimaggio (2002-05) won in 2002-03, Morgan Stuut (2011-15) in 2011-12 and Maddie Welter (2016-20) in 2016-17.
- Bafia led SXU in scoring with 404 points and points per game at 14.4 while playing in and starting all 28 of the team's played games. She shot a team-best 51.5 percent (167-for-324) from the field as well. Bafia shot 31.8 percent (14-for-44) from three-point range and 72.7 percent (56-for-77) from the free-throw line. She hauled in 168 rebounds for an average of 6.0 rebounds per game, along with 52 steals, 50 assists and 26 blocked shots. She saw 855 minutes of action, averaging 30.5 minutes per game. Bafia was named the CCAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week on February 10.
- Green played in and started all 28 of the team's played games, scoring 346 points for an average of 12.4 points per game. She led the team with 81 assists and three-pointers made with 51. Green shot 38.5 percent (125-for-325) from the floor, 30.5 percent (51-for-167) from beyond the arc and 69.2 percent (45-for-65) from the foul line. She pulled down 98 rebounds for an average of 3.5 rebounds per game, with 28 steals and five blocks. Green logged 852 minutes of action for an average of 30.4 minutes per contest. She became the 24th player in school history to score 1,000 or more career points earlier in the season.
- Johnson played in and started all 28 of the team's played games, netting 338 points to average 12.1 points per game. She shot 40.6 percent (119-for-293) from the field, 33.9 percent (42-for-124) from deep and a team-best 86.6 percent (58-for-67) from the charity stripe. Johnson corralled 133 rebounds for an average of 4.8 per game, adding 23 assists, 17 steals and a pair of blocked shots. She recorded 694 minutes of playing time, averaging 24.8 minutes on the court.
- Peetz was the fourth player for Saint Xavier to play in and start all 28 of the team's games played. She led the Cougars in rebounds (243), rebounds per game (8.7), steals (57) and blocks (55). Peetz shot 46.3 percent (69-for-14) from the floor, 31.3 percent (5-for-16) from three-point range, and 61.2 percent (30-for-49) from the free-throw line. She also led the team in minutes played at 882, averaging 31.5 minutes per game. Peetz earned CCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week three times in 2025-26 on December 12, January 20 and January 27.
