CHICAGO – For the third time this season, the No. 23 ranked Saint Xavier University softball team (34-10/23-1 CCAC) swept the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Softball Player of the Week awards when they were announced by the league office Tuesday morning. Junior pitcher Lily Strand (Evergreen Park, Ill./St. Louis/Evergreen Park) earned CCAC Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time, while redshirt sophomore infielder Jazmyn Casas (Berwyn, Ill./Illinois-Chicago/Taft) picked up her third CCAC Player of the Week distinction. Strand made four starts in the circle, going 3-1 with three complete games in 25.0 innings of work with 20 strikeouts and an earned run average (ERA) of 2.80. Casas slugged 1.222 while batting .556. She went 10-for-18 in six games with 13 RBI, nine runs, four home runs, three walks and a stolen base.

• Strand allowed just two hits, one run (unearned), three walks and she logged a career-high 13 strikeouts in a 7-1 win over Viterbo University (Wis.) on Tuesday. She took the loss in a 9-6 defeat to the V-Hawks on Wednesday, allowing nine hits, eight earned runs, seven walks and posting three strikeouts. Strand earned a pair of victories over University of St. Francis, allowing five hits, two earned runs, two walks and two strikeouts in a 4-2 victory Friday afternoon in Joliet, Ill. She gave up just two hits, one run (unearned), walks and a pair of strikeouts in a 9-1 triumph in five innings Saturday at the SXU Softball Field.
• Casas belted four home runs, two in each game, in a doubleheader sweep of Viterbo. She was 3-for-3 with five RBI and a walk in game one, followed by a 2-for- performance, five RBI, three runs and a walk in game two. Casas slugged two home runs in the top of the 3^rd in the 22-2 win in the second game. In the series finale with VU, she went 2-for-4. Casas finished 1-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base at St. Francis on Friday. In the doubleheader in Chicago, she was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run in game one, and 1-for-4 with two run scored and an RBI in game two.

No. 23 Saint Xavier (34-10/23-1 CCAC) wraps up regular season CCAC competition when they welcome St. Ambrose University (Iowa) to the SXU Softball Field for a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 21 starting at 2:00 pm. They then travel to Davenport, Iowa to conclude the three-game series with a seven-inning contest on Wednesday, April 22 at 4:00 pm.
