Silvis, Ill. – Junior Nathan Kwiatkowski (Lockport, Ill./DuPage/Lockport Township) tied for 11^th overall with three other golfers, totaling a 36-hole mark of 154 (+12) for the Saint Xavier University men's golf team at the two-day NAIA Midwest Invitational hosted by St. Ambrose University (Iowa) at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. Kwiatkowski made three birdie putts Monday afternoon, on the Par-Four first hole, the Par-Four fifth hole and the Par-Four eighth hole for a round of 81. He lowered his score by eight strokes on day two, shooting a 73, and making three more birdies on the Par-Five second hole, the Par-Three third hole and the fifth hole. As a team, the Cougars were eighth out of 12 teams, moving up from 10^th after day one, with a total score of 635 (+67). They tallied a collective round of 329 on Monday before rebounding by 23 shots to complete the tournament with a mark of 306. Northwestern College (Iowa) won the tournament with a team score of 594 (+26), and the Red Raiders had the four top individual finishers, including the winner, Nate Carlson with a score of 146 (+4).

• Junior Talon Hawk (Athens, Ohio/Morro Bay) tied for 23^rd place with a two-day score of 157 (+15). He posted a score of 83 after round one, sinking a birdie putt on the Par-Three 16^th hole. Hawk shaved nine strokes off his score on Tuesday, carding a 74, with three birdies on the eighth, Par-Four 11^th, and Par-Four 18^th holes, respectively.
• Senior Dan Stood (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) tied for 33^rd with a score of 161 (+19). He drained a birdie on the second hole Monday afternoon, shooting a 79. Stood wrapped up the tournament with a round of 82, making a birdie on the 18^th hole.
• junior Roman Johnson (Lone Rock, Wis./Highland/Richland Center) tied for 47^th overall with a combined score of 169 (+27). He finished the first 18-hole loop with a round of 92. Johnson bounced back on day two, lowering his score by 15 shots with a birdie on the fifth hole and an Eagle on the Par-Five 17^th hole.
• Freshman Stone Hawk (Athens, Ohio/Morro Bay) tied for 53^rd with a 36-hole mark of 177 (+35). He converted a birdie putt on the Par-Four 13^th hole enroute to a score of 86 on day one. Hawk concluded the tournament with a round of 91, making par on the 17^th and 18^th holes.

Saint Xavier competes in the two-day Flyer Fall Intercollegiate hosted by Lewis University (Ill.) that begins on Monday, October 5 at Dubsbread at Cog Hill in Lemont, Ill.
