INDIANAPOLIS – The Saint Xavier University dance team started the 2024 season with a pair of third place finishes at the Marian University (Ind.) Invitational Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis, Ind. The Cougars competed in a pair of tri-matches against the host Knight and Concordia University-Ann Arbor (Mich.).
- Saint Xavier, performing a new routine, featured a lineup of, senior Mia Cox (Summit, Ill./Argo Community), Sennior Madeline Kozy (Munster, Ind./Munster), freshman Emily Hovanes (Manteno, Ill./Manteno Community), freshman Emerson Grace Murphy (Palos Heights, Ill./Marist) and freshman Kayeann Ventura (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East).
- In the first match, SXU placed third with a score of 54.0. Marian had the high score of 69.1, followed by the CUAA with a mark of 65.9.
- In the second contest, the Cougars recorded a score of 54.0 again, and finishing in third. MU had the top score at 69.1 and the Cardinals posted a score of 65.9.
Saint Xavier prepares for the Blue Devils Classic, hosted by Lawrence Tech University (Mich.), in Southfield, Mich. on Sunday, February 4. The event begins at 1:00 pm central.
